Industry & Education: Collaboration/Partnership Proposal

myBlueprint is licensed by more than 300 school boards across Canada to provide +1 million high school students with the tools they need to research and create a plan for life after high school. They are currently working on a new initiative called the Industry Immersion Series to help create a bridge between industry and the classroom in an effort to help students develop real-world skills in collaboration with real-world companies. During the 25-26 school year, a different company or industry association will sponsor each month and provide an opt-in skill building activity for students to complete, relevant to the company and/or industry. By completing the activity, students will develop relevant skills and content that they can showcase within their portfolio as they apply for future opportunities. Students will also earn the chance to win one of 20 sponsored $500 micro-grants provided by that month's participating company. Micro-grants are like modern day scholarships. Not every student is going to college or university. Not every kid needs to. Yet scholarships are largely reserved for them. Your role with this project will be to research and suggest companies where there could be a potential fit to collaborate with myBlueprint in the Industry Immersion Series. See examples in the video below.

Product Launch to New Market

myBlueprint makes software for the K12 education system. Later this year (2020) we will be launching a new product, that will not only be marketed to a new geography (USA), but also to a new ideal customer profile (all classroom teachers, and administrators). With this in mind, we have created a new product to add to the existing line that customers know and love.  When we created our original product offering, our efforts focused on marketing to career education teachers. This new product will meet the needs of all subject area teachers, and will be less niche in its offering. We are looking to crowdsource ideas to help us celebrate the launch of this new product. Ideally, we would be aiming to prepare a lunch for the start of the US school year, which is typically mid-August to early September depending on the state. **The one note to that is that we don't want/need to be constrained to a specific date. We have no brand presence in the US right now, so we are also planning 'rolling mini-launches' that could spread throughout the 2020-21 school year. We do have a budget in mind, but don't want that to limit potential ideas and creativity. All ideas big and small are welcomed. The main theme of this launch is 'Brand Awareness'. Nobody knows who we are in the US, so we are more focused on growth vs. revenue for our launch year. The product will be free to use for the 2020-21 school year. Within the theme of Brand Awareness, a focus on Referral Marketing is preferred. It is a proven fact that the #1 way educators learn about new products, is from other educators. While traditional marketing practices will still be considered (i.e. social ads, conferences, etc. ), a priority will be placed on initiatives that also include some element of a referral network effect. Creative 'Experiential Account Based Marketing' ideas will also be considered, i.e. organizing a food truck to sponsor lunch for a school or school district of interest, or buying billboard space around a school or district of interest. **The one note to this is that we're living in a covid-world, so experiential ideas may not be possible at the time of launch, however, should still be considered. Successful outcomes include a product launch presentation, with 2-3 mini-launch ideas, and 1 big launch idea from each team. Ideally, we would like to end this project with a Shark Tank style pitch virtually in front of some key stakeholders on our team The less you know about the world of education, the better. Thing big, think creatively. Uber's co-founders weren't coming from the taxi industry. Their naivety allowed them to think in a way that others did not think was possible.

Product Launch Planning

myBlueprint makes software for the K12 education system. In January 2021, we will be removing the beta sticker and officially launching a new product, that will not only be marketed to a new geography (USA), but also to a new ideal customer profile (all classroom teachers, and administrators). This new product will meet the needs of all subject area teachers, and will be less niche in its offering. We are looking to crowdsource ideas to help us celebrate the launch of this new product on a rolling basis throughout the school year, with a bigger launch event planned for January 2021. **The one note to that is that we don't want/need to be constrained to a specific date. We have no brand presence in the US right now, so we are also planning 'rolling mini-launches' that could spread throughout the 2020-21 school year. January is just when we're taking the beta sticker off and officially announcing the launch. We do have a budget in mind, but don't want that to limit potential ideas and creativity. (Optional) Bonus*** While not required to complete the project, bonus points will also be given to the team(s) that can help with pricing model recommendations. The product will be free for all for the 2020-21 school year, but would like to start generating ideas for what tiers, and pricing models we can use moving forward. - Damian
